Warner Bros: DVD2BLU

Source: WBShop.com

Warner Brothers seems to have a kind heart, and want everyone to get the best viewing experience out of their films. They have just started an exchange your DVD for a shiny new Blu-ray program dubbed "DVD2BLU".

They have 91 Blu-rays, spanning decades of the Warner Brother's library, in the catalog and you can choose up to 25 of them to upgrade from your DVD collection. The cost of the upgrade is minimal, to say the least, starting at just $4.95 per title. And to top off this deal if your total is over $35 shipping is free!

To participate simply go here and start selecting the Warner Brother titles that you wish to exchange for a Blu-ray and follow the instructions. You will need to send in the DVD copy of the movie, but you will receive the Blu-ray in the mail in response. Don't let this opportunity to beef up or jump start your Blu-ray collection pass you by!

I am pretty stoked about this deal personally. I have been meaning to upgrade my DVDs of KISS KISS, BANG BANG and THE WEDDING SINGER for awhile and now I have the means to make that happen!

Warner Bros Loves IMAX

Source: MovieWeb.com

An agreement has been reached that will allow Warner Brothers will put 20 of their upcoming films onto glorious IMAX screens. The plan is over the next few years to release the new films both in a 2-D and 3-D format, and the lineup is potentially mind blowing. As in when you read the next few lines try not to have a cranial implosion.

Here is a sampling of what is included in the agreement:
  • Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole - Directed by Zack Snyder
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows (Both Parts 1 and 2)
  • Happy Feet 2 (In 3-D)
  • The Hobbit - Directed by Guillermo del Toro (!!!)
  • The 3rd installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman franchise
  • Fury Road (A new take on the legendary Mad Max series)
  • Superman (?!?!)
Obviously some of these films are a long way from release, and a few of them are still in pre-production, but they are on the way. Warner Brother brass Don Fellman expressed the studios excitement over the deal, "We're thrilled to join with IMAX in bringing global audiences new and exciting experiences through the 3D IMAX format."

Don't let the new agreement fool you, however, since going the IMAX route isn't new to Warner Brothers. In the past few years the studio has released 25 films for IMAX use, and 10 of them were in 3-D. Just consider this news of an ongoing relationship that benefits everyone involved.

Nota Bene: Did anyone see the IMAX version of The Dark Knight? The opening bank heist is supposed to be amazing on the mega-screen. As for the article pic; I don't have to ever explain my affinity for the Warner brothers ... and the Warner sister ...
